Here's a quick year-end update from the Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund

Giving Back Through Education

As we approach the holiday season and, indeed, the end of the year, I want to thank you for both your support of the Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund and your interest in our events and programs.

Inspired by Colonel John "Johnny Mac" McHugh, who was KIA while serving in Afghanistan in 2010, our mission is to assist veterans and their family members with education expenses–giving back to those who have given so much. To that end, we have formed a partnership with the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation (CFPF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing college scholarships to over 5,000 children who have lost a parent in the line of military duty.

To help us continue to raise awareness and funds, and to expand outreach and programs, our Board of Directors recently announced the addition of 12 new directors. All veterans and West Point classmates, they bring additional leadership and diverse experiences and talents to our organization.

Learn more on our website about what we hope to accomplish in the coming months, and how you can help. Check out our upcoming events, which include a benefit gala in Houston (at which the Chief of Staff of the Army will speak!), our annual Johnny Mac Golf Tournament at West Point and an additional golf tournament next fall at Baltusrol Golf Club (home of the 2016 PGA Championship!), hosted by Mercedes-Benz USA.

On behalf of our Board of Directors, I wish you a happy and healthy holiday season. Hope to see you at a Johnny Mac event in 2015. Thank you for your continued support!

Sincerely,
MaryEllen Picciuto
President, JMSF
