ASHBURN, VIRGINIA—AUGUST 21, 2018—Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund is honored to receive an inaugural grant from the David Moradi Foundation as part of its first class of grantees.
MaryEllen Picciuto, President of the Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund said, “We are so grateful for this thoughtful and generous donation from the David Moradi Foundation. This commitment will immediately impact military families and will help us continue our mission to honor military service and sacrifice by providing college scholarships to children of our nation’s fallen. The Foundation's generous funding will help 20 military children to pursue the college education of their dreams."
The mission of the David Moradi Foundation is to enable others to overcome barriers in their lives and pursue their dreams. Launched in 2018, the Foundation seeks to aid those in need by providing grants supporting education for underprivileged children; American war veterans and their families; and other human interest and community initiatives.

Established in 2014, the Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring military service and sacrifice by providing college scholarships to veterans and military family members, particularly children of our nation’s fallen. The fund is inspired by Colonel John “Johnny Mac” McHugh, KIA in Kabul, Afghanistan on May 18, 2010. To date, Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund has awarded $7.7 million in college scholarships and education programs, funding 1,000 students.
